Abstract

Epic language is a glorious language with heavy and light words. In such a way that it is separated from ordinary language and has a protrusion. In addition to classical poetry, this language is also seen in contemporary poetry and poets, in accordance with their times, have used it. Among these poets is Mehrdad Avesta. One of the pioneers of the poetry of the Islamic Revolution, the epic aspects in his poems are considered as a prominent feature of his works. The epic works of Avesta can be seen in both aspects of pure epic and religious epic. The language of his poetry originates from two sources: Khorasani style language and the language of contemporary poetry, and the result of this work is the creation of an epic language that includes the characteristics of epic poetry. Avesta, by combining the components of ancient language and modern language, has created a language that has an epic color. He also uses the code of myth to express his thoughts, because it is argued that the nature of epic and myth are inseparable. By placing his narrative poems in the epic space and also by emphasizing the narrative characters, he has dominated the methods of epic storytelling over his words. Avesta also uses the mastery of the elements of semantics such as brevity, variety of news and compositional expressions, the precedence and latency of poetry, as well as forms of imagination, especially exaggeration, music and rhythm of some sentences that are created in speech. Epic are impressive, epic images created with the same tough epic tone and melody. It shows that the Avesta is at the musical, lexical, and outcome levels approaching the epic language. Rhetorically, although his poems seem simple and devoid of literary techniques, he uses the metaphors to the tangible and the metaphors that have a pillar that has an epic theme as well as exaggeration, it is pleasant to follow the standards of epic language. .
