Abstract

Background : Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the association of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) at the known position of rs4977574 with coronary artery occlusion in patients with cardiovascular diseases in Bushehr province. Methodology: After receiving the code of ethics and with informed consent from 200 patients with coronary artery occlusion and between 2019 and 2019, Bushehr, who were referred to Bint Al-Hadi Hospital in Bushehr and underwent surgery due to coronary artery occlusion, and 81 healthy people. Blood sampling was done as a control. After lysis of red blood cells, DNA extraction was done using chloroform method and sedimentation. RFLP-PCR method and HhaI restriction enzyme were used to determine the genotype. Statistical analysis and investigation of SNP frequency relationship with vascular occlusion was done using SPSS software. Findings: The results of the study showed that the GG genotype of the rs4977574 polymorphism is related to the risk of coronary artery disease in Bushehr (p<0.05, CI=1.238-5-499, OR=2.6). Conclusion: People with GG genotype at rs4977574 polymorphism position are at higher risk of coronary artery occlusion and this finding can be used in screening and identifying people with high risk of coronary artery occlusion.
