Abstract

Background: Studies and research in different populations of the world have shown that cardiovascular disease is related to genetic polymorphisms. The relationship between one of these genetic polymorphisms and cardiovascular disease has been studied in the population of Bushehr province. Objective: Cardiovascular disease is a multifactorial disease that is affected by environmental (age, gender) and genetic factors. Studies on different populations have shown that genetic factors include single nucleotide polymorphisms. One of these single nucleotide polymorphisms includes rs2383207, which is located at the genetic position 9P21. This single nucleotide polymorphism includes three alleles A, G and T. Study and investigation in different populations of the world has shown that this polymorphism plays a role in the development of cardiovascular diseases. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of this polymorphism in the development of cardiovascular diseases in the population of Bushehr province Methodology: This research was conducted on 311 people, of which 225 were patients and 86 were controls. Blood samples were taken from the mentioned people. DNA was extracted from white blood cells by chloroform method. Allah and genotype determination was done by ARMS PCR method. Data analysis and association of genotypes with cardiovascular disease was done with SPSS software. P-value less than 0.05 was considered as significant level. Findings: Out of 225 people with cardiovascular disease, 81 people had GG genotype, 54 people had AA genotype, 52 people had TT genotype, 35 people had GA genotype and 3 people had GT genotype. After the statistical analysis of the data by SPSS software, a significant index was obtained for genotypes, age and gender, respectively (P) Sig = 0.001, (P) Sig = 0.00, (P) Sig = 0.005. It was found that there is a significant relationship between genotype and cardiovascular disease Conclusion: After statistical analysis of the data
