چکیده

Three different categories Schiff bases and their binuclear nickel complexes synthesized using the sonochemical and the reflux distillation methods. These compounds were characterized by various methods including 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR, Mass, UV-Vis, TGA, SEM, magnetometery, conductometery, and elemental analysis. The first category consists of three macrocyclic fourdendate (N4) Schiff base ligands were derived from condensation of some dianiline compounds including 4,4'-di-amino diphenyl sulfone (DDS), 4,4'-oxy-di-aniline (ODA) and 4,4'- methylene bis-benzylamine (MDA) with ortho-phthalaldehyde (OPA). The second category consists of four six dendate (N4O2) Schiff base ligands, (H2L4- H2L7) which were prepared from the two stages consecutive reaction of 9-Hexyl- 9-H-carbazol-3,6-dicarbaldehyde with 2-amino-3,5-diboromobenzaldehyde and some derivatives of 2-hydroxyaminophenol. The third category including of some six dentate (N4O2) Schiff base ligands, (H2L8-H2L19), which are the products of reaction between dianilines (DDS, ODA and MDA) and 2-amino-3,5- diboromobenzaldehyde and various derivatives 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde. The binuclear nickel complexes [Ni2LnCl4] and [Ni2LnCl2], were synthesized using an ultrasonic or reflux distillation methods. Based on elemental, conductance spectral studies and magnetic moment measurements four-coordinated geometry was assigned for these complexes. The ligands L1-L3 act as fourdentate and coordinates through nitrogen atom of azomethine group. also ligands H2Ln (n = 4-19) act as sixdentate and coordinates through nitrogen atom of azomethine and oxygen atoms of the hydroxyl groups. Further more Nanoscale particles of nickel oxide were produced from the nano nickel complexes using the thermal decomposition method and analyzed using FT-IR, FE-SEM and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) methods, which indicated close accordance to the standard pattern of NiO nanoparticles and showed an acceptable size in the nanorange (54-32 nm).
