Background: single crystal and Sediment of zinc(II) and mercury(II) supramolecular, (HL')2[Zn(L)(Cl)2] (1) and (HL')2[Hg(L)(Cl)2] (2) (H2L = Pyridine-2,6- dicarboxylic acid, L' = 2,4-diamino-6-chloropyrimidine) compounds, have been synthesized by side branch tube and sonochemical methods.
Aim: Synthesis and characterization of supermolecular compounds is the new goal of this project.
Methodology: The new compounds were characterized by X-ray diffraction and crystallography, FT-IR, XRD, TGA-DTA, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, EDS and SEM techniques. The Hirshfeld surfaces of compounds crystal packing and the fingerprint maps were used to obtain data regarding non-covalent interactions.
Conclusions: Single crystal X-ray diffraction showed that mononuclear zinc(II) compound (1), was synthesized by side branch tube method and crystalized in monoclinic crystal system and in Space Group P21/c. The compound was characterized by X-ray diffraction and crystallography, FT-IR, XRD, 1HNMR, 13CNMR techniques. The coordination environment of zinc(II) ion is five. A Hirshfeld surface and topological analysis of compound (1) was carried out. intramolecular interactions, including hydrogen bonds such as (O...H, Cl…H and N…H) and π-π interactions between aromatic rings such as (C...H, C...C and C...N). Powder of compound (1') was synthesized by the sonochemical method were characterized by XRD, NMR, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), IR spectroscopy and EDAX and thermogravimetry methods. Debye-Scherrer method determined the mean of powder size to be 300-400 nm. Compound (2) was crystalized in triclinic crystal system and in Space Group P-1, and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure of compound (2) show the relevant coordination number for the mercury(II) ions are found to be five. A Hirshfeld surface and topological analysis of compound (2) was carried out. By examining the bond angles and bond lengths around the central atom, a distorted square pyram
