Abstract

In this thesis, a new weighted Lindley distribution mbased on compounding two Lindley random variables introduced. Mathematical properties of this family are studied. The behavior of maxi- mum likelihood estimationsis and other different estimator studied. This model is fitted to a real data set and compared with some well-known models. The numerical results show that this model provide better fit for this data set.
