Nowadays the culture of bivalved shellfish has increased but the consumption it has been limited both by high levels of heavy metals and toxic algae [1]. The razor clams (Solen rosemaculatus) or locally known as ‘Melalis’ were studied for their heavy metals contents in soft tissues. Sediment samples were also tested for their metal contents.
