چکیده

The wild sand worm Perinereis nuntia, has been used as a source of essential fatty acids for reproductive maturity of the shrimp brood stock in Iran. The purpose of this experiment was to determine variation of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) based on the mix (sand and stone), sandy, and muddy intertidal areas of Bushehr Port. The results showed that the highest level of fatty acid in all samples belonged to a kind of saturated fatty acid, Palmitic acid (P<0.05). The total level of fatty acids in specimens from muddy bed was significantly lower in comparison with sandy and mix bed specimens (P<0.05). The level of saturated fatty acids in the specimens from sandy shore was higher than mix and muddy shore (P<0.05). The level of monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) in sandy bed specimens did not significantly differ from mix beds (P>0.05). Polyunsaturated fatty acids in the specimens from mix bed did not significantly differ from sandy bed (P>0.05). The analysis of organic materials showed no significant difference despite increasing in organic materials in sandy beds, compared with mix and sandy beds (P>0.05). For the development of marine culture, breeding and culture of this Polychaetes is recommended for coastline rural-based people.
