Artists present political, social and cultural attitudes in their works in different ways. Hoshang Ebtahaj (Shaye) is one of the poets and artists of the pre- and post-revolution era. He is committed to culture, art, music, ideology and national values, and for a part of his life, he firmly believed in the Tudeh party and collective ideals, to the extent that, in a special and deep ideological discourse, he The creation of poetry begins. This interaction and connection between shadow poetry and the changes and political-social transformation of the time, brings us into the realm of discourse analysis. Since the basis of the formation of thought and words are the mirror of meaning and the role of words and their selection is important and fundamental in the process of discourse analysis, in this research which is written with a descriptive-analytical method, the subject of the focus of thought and word selection in Ibtahaj's poems is The point of view of critical analysis of the discourse has been investigated. In this article, after studying Sayeh's poetic works from the perspective of the historical, political and social developments of the time, the words of his poems were examined at the three levels of description, interpretation and explanation, and by using the critical discourse analysis of the underlying layers, the meanings of the words were revealed.
