Abstract

Background: In recent years, the prevalence of psychological distress, especially anxiety and depression, and increase in marital burnout and involving 50% of couples, have caused many researchers to look for its determining factors. Aim: The purpose of this research is to predict marital burnout and psychological distress based on relationship mindfulness, covert relational aggression, and caregiving quality through the mediation of the sense of coherence in couples. Methodology: the present research is applied research and in terms of method of data collection, it is descriptive of correlation type and also this research is structural equation modeling type. The statistical population of the present study includes all married men and women in Bushehr city in 1402-1403 which are married More than 1 year. The sample of the current research also includes 380 married people of Bushehr city in 1402-1403, who were selected by using available sampling method. The method and tool of collecting information is through a questionnaire. In this way, the couples were selected as available and the questionnaire was distributed among them. Conclusions. The results showed that covert relational aggression is able to predict marital burnout and psychological distress alone and with the mediation of sense of coherence. Caregiving quality and sense of coherence also predict psychological distress.
