Abstract

The iraqi novelist, Sinan Anton is one of those who applied modern narrative styles in his novels, specifically of those in the stream of consciousness. The motivation was due to the fact that real life with all its problems and negativities and distresses was impressed by terrorism which evolved because of breaking the iraqi "I" and its breakable structure; and that the novelist has not been applying himself in destiny mechanisms nor than themes. The horror of the current period and all its attachments of new uncommon subjects proved that the use of traditional narrative styles does not work. So, this study based on a descriptive-psycho-analytic approach works on the technicalities of the stream of consciousness and its stylistics in Sinan Anton's novels. The researcher has chosen his material from Sinan Anton's four novels: "Eajam", "Wahdaha Shajarat Al-Romman", "Ya Maryam", and " Fehres". The study surveyed the concept of consciousness stream and its philosophical and scientific and literary roots and the techniques that it uses, after monitoring the bibliography and the scientific and literary works of Sinan Anton's. Also, the research, monitoring the relationship between the used techniques, discussed the expressions that are available in modern narrative style. The study showed that the writer used proficiently the techniques that are pertained to the stream of consciousness in order to enter the complicated mindsets of characters and observe its contents and delve into its entangled psychological statuses. He, using the illumination technique, entered the reader into the world of cinematic narration to live the events closely, and touch them after giving them a psychological task to express the psychological statuses such as fright and nervousness in the characters. Too, the study revealed that the dreams that are come out in two levels: asleep dreams and awakening dreams, proceeded to nightmares' level, which are related to the dreadful political and social
