Abstract

تجربة التلقي. Cinematic discourse is an artistic technique used in cinema and theater to convey narratives and themes through elements such as cinematography, shots, dialogue, music, and sound effects. Since the late 19th century, cinema has evolved from silent moving images to sound and color films with modern technologies. Some contemporary writers and poets, including Kareem Maatouq, have adopted this discourse in their poetry to offer readers a sensory, film-like experience. This allows the reader to visualize scenes and events, enhancing interaction with the poetic text. This study employs a descriptive-analytical approach to explore the presence of cinematic discourse in Maatouq’s poetry, revealing how he creatively integrates visual techniques to serve his poetic vision and enrich the imagery of his texts, adding a vivid visual layer that deepens the reader’s experience
