In this research, a technique for risk assessment, the use of control and preventive measures to achieve safe and highreliability stages of well drilling operations in South Pars offshore drilling rigs with the method of Functional Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), is examined. The purpose of this research is to investigate the risks caused by the eruption
of wells and then to prevent marine safety and environmental risks in South Pars. One of the reasons for the necessity of
this research can be attributed to the effect of preventive measures against the explosion of offshore drilling wells and the
subsequent reduction of safety and environmental risks. The basis of this study is to provide control strategies for the initial symptoms indicating the eruption of wells in the offshore drilling rig. The results of this research indicate the proper
prevention of the explosion of offshore drilling rig wells in South Pars with the FMEA method and the reduction of safety
and environmental risks. In simple terms, this method evaluates the risks using measurable parameters related to the
eruption of drilling wells, which, by providing solutions, plays a significant role in reducing safety and environmental risks
in the sea due to the activities of offshore drilling rigs in South Pars.
