Abstract

The aim of this study was to eliminate ammonium ions from Zagros Petrochemical industrial Wastewater located in South Pars Energy area from the high concentration range (2500-2000 ppm) to the permitted environmental range of Mobin Petrochemical Refinery and also biological basin through coagulation and flocculation with Increasing temperature and aeration through optimization of treatment operation .at first, In this dissertation , types of methods for eliminating this environmental pollutant were discussed and Among the various methods, coagulation and flocculation methods were selected and evaluated Due to the polluting conditions of the Wastewater. Despite the wide variety of Flocculants and coagulants in the wastewater treatment industry, by studying scientific sources and field research, the most widely used types of these two species including poly aluminium chloride, alum, Iron sulfate and ferric chloride with lime as coagulant and coagulant aid or Flocculants in all tests to achieve the goal of selecting and optimizing their performance in laboratory conditions. The final results showed that the elimination operation of ammonium ion through coagulation and flocculation without aeration and temperature increase(Ambient temperature) for At an acidity of 10 for a concentration of 8 mg per liter poly aluminium chloride: 78.4, At an acidity of 10 for a concentration of 9 mg per liter alum: 40.51, At an acidity of 10 for a concentration of 13 mg per liter Iron sulfate: 58.12 and At an acidity of 10 for a concentration of 3.5 mg per liter ferric chloride: 39.01% and in aerobic mode with a flow rate of 9 liters per minute and an increase in temperature in the range of 50 to 60 degrees centigrade, At an acidity of 10 for a concentration of 8 mg per liter poly aluminium chloride: 95.77, At an acidity of 10 for a concentration of 9 mg per liter At an acidity of 10 for a concentration of 13 mg per liter alum: 72.72, At an acidity of 10 for a concentration of 3.5 mg per
