Abstract

A novel approach for the synthesis of thioethers has been developed, utilizing elemental sulfur (S8) as the sulfur source under visible-light irradiation. The reaction proceeds efficiently under ambient conditions, with THPP/ Cu2O serving as the photocatalyst and visible light as the energy source in the presence of air. This method offers an eco-friendly, cost-effective, and practical strategy, delivering the desired products in good to excellent yields.
