Surface consolidation settlement as one of the most important factors in foundation design depends on several parameters such as soil type and mechanical properties as well as foundation geometry. Analysis of the foundation consolidation settlement is important ,due to the impact on the performance of the whole structure. Various analytical and numerical methods have been developed to calculate the consolidation settlement. In this study, the differential quadrature method has beed used to investigate the consolidation settlement of strip, circular and ring foundations on unsaturated soils. The footing is considered as perfectly flexible or rigid.
