چکیده

Increasing Demand of Electrical Energ require deveoloping and installing new transmission line. Devoloping transimison line is facing with two difficulty. As transmission line is passing trough different inviorment can be faced faulty condition that make it hard to find due to its long length. For this problem different method of finding fault has been introduced. FACTS equipment has been introduced to overcome developing transmission line. Employing FACTS controllers to transmission and networks systems helps to push the capacity of transmission line close to the thermal limit and aids in reducing the economic and environmental problems from installing new transmission line. Consequently, we have to face emerging problems that may be created by such employments since these devices will directly impact power system quantities. Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) as one FACTS device has unique ability to control both real and reactive power flows among transmission network. For a line that has been compensated with UPFC, old method can’t be applied due to UPFC effect on power system charactristics. In following thesis a method has been introduced that locate fault in compensated transmission line. After fault occur, 3/4 voltage signal that receive from one-end of transmission line is considered for analysis. This part of signal is dividing into 4 partition for better analysis. FDOST as signal processing tool apply to these partition and in order to reduce the dimension of gained feature vector, PCA is apply to them. After choosing 10 firs PCA component, Guassion Process Regression (GPR) is taking into account. To evaluate the proposed scheme, all simulation has been done with MATLAB/SIMULINK. Simulation result shows great accuracy.
