Gamma ray spectrometry system is used to measure of specific activities of radionuclides in environmental and industrial samples. Due to various samples (in terms of geometry, composition, …), standard samples will be required. The standard sample preparation is sometimes expensive and unattainable. Therefore an alternative method to calculate the system efficiency for different samples is necessary.
In this thesis, at first we have measured the gamma ray system efficiency for standard point gamma sources. Then we have calculated the gamma ray spectrometry system efficiency for different samples using ANGLE code. Our results of simulated efficiency have been compared with experimental results. The deviation of some simulated results with experimental data has been described.
