Gamma ray spectrometry system is used to measure specific activities of radionuclides in environmental and industrial samples. Due to various samples (in terms of geometry, composition …), standard samples are required. The standard sample preparation is sometimes expensive and unattainable. Therefore, an alternative method to calculate the system efficiency for different samples is necessary.
In this thesis, at first we have measured the system efficiency for standard point gamma sources. We have then calculated the gamma ray spectrometry system efficiency for different samples using the ANGLE code. The simulated results have been compared with experimental results. The deviation of some simulated results with experimental data has also been described.
