Abstract

BackgroundZiziphusmauritianais one of the important fruits of tropical and subtropical regions, which is known as the third garden product of Bushehr province after palms and citrus. Aim: Post-harvest waste from the Ziziphusmauritianain Iran, especially in Bushehr province, causes the supply of this product to be low compared to the area under cultivation. Therefore, in this study, an attempt was made to provide a scientific and practical solution in solving this problem and expanding the commercial life of this fruit by examining the effect of pottersin treatments and its interaction with uv-c radiation on the life after fruit removal. Methodology: This research was investigated in 2019 as a factorial experiment in the form of a completely randomized basic design in the laboratory of horticultural sciences of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources of the Persian Gulf University. Factors include uv-c radiation with a wavelength of 254 nm at four levels (0, 15, 30, and 60 minutes), pottersin at four concentrations (0, 1, 2, and 3 mM), and storage time at four levels (10, 20, 30 and 40 days). Indicators of fruit weight loss percentage, fruit texture firmness, soluble solids, titratable acidity, vitamin C, pH, chlorophyll a and b and the activity of catalase and polygalactronase enzymes during 40 days of storage at intervals of 10 days was taken. The second part of the study was conducted after the end of the storage phase to control the fungal disease Alternaria, which included culture of parts of the infected fruit on the potato growing environment of dextrose agar (PDA), purification and detection of isolated fungi isolated from most infected fruits. After treatment of the fruits (similar to the first part), in order to measure the degree of prevention of fungal caries progression by the mentioned treatments, the fruits were supplied with mushrooms. The traits measured in this section included the percentage of natural weight loss, the percentage of weight l
