Abstract

Ground effect, is an inhanced lift that is applied to the wings of wigcrafts, in close to the surface of earth or sea. wigcrafts, the vessels that has been created associate with this inhanced lift has been studied in this thesis. The purpose of this study is the analysis of the wigcraft ‘s aerodynamic and hydrodynamic behaviour. By considering the dimensional similarity method, model simulation conditions are provided from the prototype in one tenth scale in software. By doing this simulation, the final design of the wigcraft is completed. First an overwiew of origin of the surface effect is given in the introduction. Then review the problem-solving rules include how to use dimensional similarity in simulation, has been explaned. Then in the wing aerodynamic chapter, the requer airfoil cross-sections have been designed. By starting calculation, define the effect of the surface by three-dimentional wing simulation exoressed in flight at different altitude of the surface. Body selection, wing type and wing incidence angle to the fuselage respectively to optimally select the geometry of the design, are done by simulation. Proper flight velocity regime to meet flight needs, like a suitable flight lift, it has been tested in different velocity rate, so that proper fluid velocity in the simulation is consistent with the final results. Stability and control is the final part of the project completion process, which ends with choosing the right design. The effect of the wave on the wigcraft in flight and the buoyancy phase is the end of the simulation. In all stage of the research, it has obtained three results at same time, comes with a design that is getting to know it with the step, knowledge of the tool required for each design obtained. Method of preparation of the wigcraft fluid simulation conditions is described. In addition to the supplementary design obtained during the simulation process, the most plan has been prepared to access other stages of industrialization
