چکیده

Concrete is one of the most commonly used building materials. The main features of concrete are its being cheap and the availability of its raw materials. As we know, concrete is a brittle material, therefore, concrete structures are often reinforced with steel. On the other hand, the use of glass fiber mesh with respect to its strength, stability, hardness, durability, maintaining its mechanical properties at high and low temperatures, excellent moisture and corrosion resistance, and lower cost compared to steel has always been a concern for researchers considered as a reinforcement for concrete, repairing and strengthening structures. this study investigates the bending behavior of concrete beams reinforced with glass geogrid fiber mesh. For this purpose, 6 non- reinforced samples are considered as control samples and 54 sample beams reinforced with glass geogrid fiber mesh in the sizes of 15 × 15 × 65 cm were constructed in two different mixing designs and then subjected to three-point bending test. Force-displacement behavior in concrete beam samples reinforced with different number of glass geogrid fiber mesh layers, placement of mesh layers at the height of the cross section of the beam and operation duration for the preparing samples were compared with those of the non- reinforced beams. The results show that the bending resistance of the control samples is higher than the expected estimates. Furthermore, the use of a glass geogrid fiber mesh increased the rupture modulus and the displacement rate of the samples so that the maximum increase in the rupture modulus is related to the sample reinforced with the highest number of fiber mesh layers (48.88) in comparison with the non- reinforced model. In this study, the increase in age of samples from 28 to 90 days showed a significant effect of up to 34.06% on the bending resistance of the samples.
