The expression of BTN1A1 gene had shown that it has an important role in lactation time. In the current study, the expression pattern of BTN1A1 gene was investigated during different physiological times in Adani goats with high and low milk breeding values. Samples of Mammary gland tissue taken by biopsy gun and applied to Real Time-PCR gene expression analysis. The statistical analysis model contained effects of breeding value groups, sampling time and interaction between breeding value groups and sampling time as fixed effects, and random effects were animals nested in breeding value groups and interaction between sampling time and animal nested in breeding value. All factors had a significant effect on the BTN1A1 transcription levels. Comparison of the BTN1A1 transcription level at milking time between breeding value groups has shown that the amount of transcription was more in a high breeding value group. The results also shown that in both groups the maximum of BTN1A1 gene transcription was in drying time. These results indicated that the BTN1A1 gene could be a valuable candidate gene for lactation process and the structure of the gene, specially the promoter region, should be more evaluated in complementary studies in Adani goats.
