Abstract

The aim of this study was to assess the training needs of Bushehr governor's staff. The statistical population of the study included 17 units (office and general administration) in Bushehr governorship, which were studied by census method. To conduct research in the qualitative sector; first, through reviewing job documents and interviews and conversations with at least 2 experts and managers of the mentioned units, job groups were identified in Bushehr governorship. The statistical population in the quantitative part, was 300 employees and managers of the governorship who through Krejcie and Morgan table 170 of them were selected as a sample and completed the checklist of training needs. The prepared checklist consisted of two parts that indicated the status of training needs in the present and future conditions. After completing the needs assessment forms, the obtained data were analyzed using Friedman test and the average rank of each training need was determined. Finally, in order to estimate the range at four priority levels (from 1 to 4), the Lihe method was used and the training needs were identified at four levels (immediate, continuous, strategic and neutral). Thus, the training needs of the first level were of the highest importance and the training needs of the fourth level, were of the least importance in terms of the employees studied in the governorship. The results of data analysis related to each unit are detailed in the Quantitative Analysis section of Chapter Four.
