Abstract

With the beginning of the 20th century, feminist movements and women's freedom were formed in European countries, especially in France, and over time, society's view of women and their position changed. In the second half of the 20th century, with the changes and evolution of the countries of the Middle East, the position of women in these societies underwent a great transformation and the issues surrounding them received more attention. In the meantime, poets and writers were also looking for this, to explain the problems of this section of the society. Feminist literary criticism is literary criticism that looks at issues from feminist theory, or more broadly, from the perspective of feminist politics, and uses the principles and ideology of feminism to criticize language and literature. This school of thought seeks to analyze and describe the ways in which literature portrays the narrative of male dominance by exploring the economic, social, political and psychological aspects hidden in the issues surrounding women. However, this method of criticism sometimes goes beyond the conditions of moderation and faces extremism. Sa‛īdah bint Khater Al-Farsi, a contemporary Omani poet, is a poet who attaches great importance to the concerns of women in society and the sufferings that she and her peers faced, and in her poems, the problems of society and especially the status, rights and sufferings of women. It has had a wide impact. She sought to bring women to their true rights and status. This thesis analyzes and examines feminist concepts in the Diwan " Uwriqu min Bain al- Thuqūb " written by Saeeda bint Khater al-Farsi, using a descriptive-analytical method and relying on feminist criticism. The results of the research show that the poet is very sensitive to the status of women in the Arab patriarchal society.
