Abstract

Evasion from home has been a challenge and a serious social problem in the past three decades. This study examined differences in the use of coping strategies in normal and runaway girls. This is an ex post facto study, in which 45 girls who run the length of the investigation arrested or held by related organizations, were selected through purposive sampling. 45 single females runaway who were living in Shiraz in terms of socio-economic component considered lower-middle areas, were chosen as the peer group. Coping Inventory Along with some demographic questions were administered to the subjects. Data were analyzed Independent t-test and covariance. The results showed that runaway girls and issue-based and emotion-oriented coping strategies in normal use, there is a significant difference. That means the runaway girls problem - oriented and emotion-oriented use less than normal in the face of stress. Based on the findings of this study, there is a significant difference in the use of coping strategies among runaway and normal girls.
