Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the The effectiveness of Easy Mind method on planning, brain sidedness, visual memory, and mental maintenance of students with math learning disabilities. The research design was quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test design with control group. The statistical population included all students who referred to the Bushehr Learning Disabilities Center and were identified as having a learning disability. The sample of the study was 16 (8 girls, 8 boys) students who were studying in the first and second grades of elementary school. The sample members were selected by purposive sampling method and were randomly divided into experimental and control groups. Assessment tools included Pertussis maze test, Piaget mental retention test, and field researcher test to measure academic achievement. First, pre-test was performed on both groups. The experimental group received 12 sessions of easy mind therapy intervention but the control group did not receive any intervention. After the intervention sessions, the values of the variables in both groups were measured with the help of post-test. Data analysis using analysis of covariance showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups after the treatment. That is, it improves planning, mental retention, and academic achievement in math. Due to the effectiveness of the EasyMind method on the variables of planning, mental maintenance and improving academic achievement, this method is of special importance for counselors, therapists and school teachers to be able to reduce the burden of these students' problems.
