Abstract

War is one of the ominous phenomena that seems to have accompanied humanity since the beginning of its history and the emergence of man. All wars have their roots in human greed, avarice, and excesses. Therefore, to find the roots and causes of wars, we must first look at the factors that have fostered excesses, powers, greed, and other undesirable traits in humans and created destructive wars. In the history of humanity and in religious stories and national myths, two forces of good and evil have been engaged in war from the very beginning. From the perspective of Islamic texts, the phenomenon of war arose between the first humans, and in fact between the children of Prophet Adam (PBUH), and Abel was killed by the cowardly hand of Cain. In the heroic texts of Iran, man has struggled with the phenomenon of war since the time of Gyumri (Kiumars) until now. By tracing the roots of the causes of the wars that have occurred so far, it can be said that the first enemies of humanity, who caused the emergence of wars, were devils, demons, and demons. They were the guides and role models of the greedy and deceitful in history, and they have been involved and are the pioneers in all conflicts, including wars between countries, wars between two humans, or even wars between humans and themselves, to the point where wars and bloodbaths are carried out either directly by order of demons, with their participation, or by those who have accumulated demonic characteristics and have gone so far as to become demons and demons resembling humans themselves. War in Shahnameh is not only between individuals and countries, but also between good and evil, filth and purity, ugliness and beauty, God and Satan, and consequently between Iran and the non-Iranian.
