چکیده

With the advancement of architecture and the increase in the needs of students, a new dormitory has been considered suitable for the needs of today's students, which can meet the psychological and environmental needs of students as much as possible. In addition to moving away from their original environment, the family, dormitory students experience a different environment in the dormitory that brings together students with different cultures, ideologies, habits, interests, and even different languages. Therefore, paying special attention to the special needs of students, especially female students, who spend more time in the dormitory, is of special importance. With the approach of environmental psychology, we can approach some of those needs with the help of architectural design. Dormitory students' preferences about the types of dormitories and their environmental conditions are discussed from two points of view: environmental architecture and psychology. The statistical population of this study consists of 100 female students who lived in 2 dormitories. The students conducted a researcher-made interview which included 4 question groups which included personal information, students' preferences in the field of environment and architecture, current dormitory type and preferred dormitory type. Fundamentals of Environmental Psychology Response The results showed that most students prefer the dormitory of the suite type in terms of architecture and personal privacy for living, while in the current situation the rate of vitality and social relations in dormitory type dormitories is higher. There was also a significant difference in the level of education and the type of preference room, so that graduate students preferred a single room. Among the psychological indicators studied, it was concluded that the sense of social relations and vitality in corridor dormitories is higher than suite dormitories.
