Abstract

The presence of humidity in various systems and thermodynamic cycles can damage the compressor and lead to high costs. For this reason, having a filter dryer is essential to prevent this problem. In this research, the production method of hydrophilic Gilsonite is investigated and also the application of this material in filter dryer is investigated. The research method is based on performing the necessary experiments to produce hydrophilic Gilsonite and the feasibility of using hydrophilic Gilsonite nanoparticles in a filter dryer based on the designed experiments as well as simulation of a filter dryer using COMSOL Multiphysics 5.6 software.. Since most filter dryers are cylindrical, the expected dehumidifier is also simulated as a cylinder and the airflow in one direction in the filter is checked. Based on the findings, the possibility of using hydrophilic Gilsonite as a humidity adsorber in the drying filter is fully provided and with further study and research, it is possible to produce a drying filter based on hydrophilic Gilsonite.
