Abstract

Background: Nowadays the food industry is facing a growing demand for food, increasing at the variety of products and more competition. For most managers, it is difficult to choose which products should be stored and which one would be ordered. This issue is very important in diary industry, because their products are at the risk of corruption more than other products. Determine the type of dairy product companies, choose the appropriate supply chain and identify factors influencing the customer order decoupling point (CODP) can help managers and decision makers of these companies more.
Aim: The main purpose of this research includes: determining the type of products in dairy companies and select the appropriate supply chain, identifying and ranking factors affecting location of customer order decoupling point (CODP) in diary industry. Methodology: The statistical population includes all of dairy companies in Iran. The sample size is Zarrin Ghazal's company that is located at the industrial town of Shiraz. Also, the unit sample consists of a group of managers and experts at Zarrin Ghazal's company who are working since this company was constituted. In this study, In order to collect data, a standard questionnaire is used which was completed by a group of managers and experts of Zarrin Ghazal's company to identify the type of dairy product and also to use a conceptual model that is extracted from previous studies. By interview with managers and experts that has made, this research want to determine the factors affecting the location of customer order decoupling point (CODP) and ranking this factors. Research data was analyzed by SWARA software which is one of the multi-criteria decision making.
Conclusions: Research findings show that products manufacture in diary companies is standard and lean supply chain is applied. Also, results indicate that the significant factors affecting the dairy industry to determine the location of decoupling customer order point accordin
