Abstract
|
Membrane gas dehydration due to the importance of issues such as gas hydrate formation and pipelines corrosion is studied. Gas/water separation in new method done by thin film composite membranes fabricated by interfacial polymerization on porous polyetherimide hollow fibers. M-phenylenediamine dissolved in water and trimesoyl chloride dissolved in hexane applied to form polyamide selective layer. Membranes were evaluated in gas and water tests by changing interfacial polymerization process parameters such as reactive monomer concentration and reaction time. It was found that the concentration of chloride phase agent has the greatest effect on the selectivity. In these tests, due to highly cross-linked polyamide network, 400 times water permeance enhancement and 360 times gas permeance reduction on average was observed. Then the membranes were tested by built membrane gas dehydration setup in various operating conditions to investigate efficiency, that the selectivity of up to about 500 shows their high performance.
