In this paper, the influence of reverse taper wing with anhedral angle on aerodynamic characteristics during ground effect was numerically studied. The middle part of present wing is a rectangular wing, and the side parts include a reverse taper wing with anhedral angle named as compound wing. The section of wings is labeled as NACA 6409. The simulation of wings was performed by three dimensional (3D) computational fluids dynamic (CFD). The k-Iµ turbulent model was applied for the turbulent flow around the wing in CFD model. In order to validate the numerical results, the CFD simulations of a rectangular wing with respect to various aspect ratios, ground clearance and angle of attack were compared with the experimental data published by a previous researcher. Next, lift coefficient, drag coefficient and lift to drag ratio of a compound wing and rectangular wing were determined on various ground clearances and angle of attack. The CFD results of compound wing as compared with a rectangular wing show an increase in lift coefficient and reduction in drag, consequently, the lift to drag ratio increased. The main improvement of aerodynamic coefficients for the compound wing was observed to be at a lower ground clearance and small angle of attack.
