Abstract
The Weibull distribution is one of the most popular and widely used model for failure time in life-testing and reliability theory. In this study, we introduce a new class of continuous distributions called the extended odd Weibull-G family. Special models of new family are provided. Various struc- tural properties including explicit expressions for the ordinary and incomplete moments, generating function, Rényi and Shannon entropies, order statis- tics and probability weighted moments are derived. The maximum likelihood method is used for estimating model parameters. The flexibility of the gener- ated family is illustrated by means of two applications to real data sets
