Abstract

In this study, a thiol-free route for the preparation of thioesters via a nickel-catalyzed four-component reaction of aryl halides, alkyl halides, thiourea and Cr(CO)6 is reported. Carbon-sulfur bond is formed in one-pot, in the absence of ligand and reducing agent.
