In this paper, the influence of aging (hydrothermal) time and temperature on the characteristics of SBA-15 mesoporous silica materials. The results indicated SBA-15 sample obtained at short-time ripening of 4 hour (hr) contained more silanol groups that two-dimensional (2-D) hexagonal SBA-15 mesoporous structure than the conventional SBA-15 material (24 hr). As well, the sample synthesized after 4 hr of ripening at 40°C followed by 24 hr of hydrothermal operation at 100?C, demonstrated enhancement of 2-D hexagonal order compared to other samples. The synthesized material was characterized using small angle XRD, SEM, TEM and BET techniques.
