Abstract Wilt is one of the main diseases of tomato crop which causes significant reduction in yield. In the present study the effectiveness of some medicinal plants extracts were surveyed against mycelia growth of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici, the causal agent of tomato wilt. The in vitro efficacy of different concentrations of ethanol extracts (500, 1000, 2000 and 3000 ?l) and water extracts (4000?l) was used in this study. The rates of growth inhibition were measured after placing active mycelial plugs of fungus on Petri dishes containing 15 ml of Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) amended with specific concentrations of extracts and incubated at 26 ?C for ten days. The data were analyzed using SAS (version 9.2) software. Results revealed that all plant extracts showed significant inhibitory effects on fungal growth in comparison to control (p? 0.01). Among the different water extracts, Solanum nigrum was found most effective followed by Matricaria chamomilla, Datura stramonium, Vinca minor, Satureja hortensis. Moreover, ethanol extracts of two Matricaria varieties, Pulicaria gnaphaloides, Artemisia sp., Teucrium polium and Eucalyptus globulus had the the most inhibitory effects against tested fungus, respectively. Furthermore, when used 3000 ?l of ethanol extracts, Eucalyptus globulus, Allium ampeloprasum and Teucrium polium were more efficient comparing to other concentrations.
