Abstract Nanofluids (NFs) are as an excellent alternative to conventional chemical solvents in absorption processes for the removing of acid gases, particularly in the desalination industry. Integration of membrane separation process and NFs application as a solvent for the carbon dioxide absorption process is the objective of this paper. Furthermore, the membrane has many advantages in terms of energy consumption and cost, process simplicity and space requirements compared to other methods such as distillation, absorption and adsorption columns and others. This paper aims to experimentally investigate the elimination of carbon dioxide using a hollow fiber membrane contactor (HFMC) constructed by polypropylene (PP). For this survey TiO2 NFs with various factors such as gas flow rate and composition of the incoming carbon dioxide, nanofluid temperature in the separation of CO2 are studied. As shown in figures (1) to (3), by increasing gas inlet velocity and CO2 inlet concentration, CO2 absorption flux increased, however it decreased by increasing liquid temperature.
