Abstract
|
After presenting the idea of applying nanotechnology and novel properties of materials at the
nanometer scale, this technology will spread to all areas of science and industry rapidly. With the advent
of nanofluids concept many attempts has been made for the development of this technology to improve
the heat transfer. Given the importance of the mass transfer phenomena in various industries, the
expansion of research in this area seems necessary. Many studies report an improvement in the rate of
mass transfer in fluids containing nanoparticles but no credible mechanism or public relations exist to
describe the mass transport phenomena in nanofluids. In this study suggested equations based on heat and
mass analogy was used and compared with the results of available experimental data in the literature.
Finally the non-linear regression conducted for the Sherwwood number as a function of Re, Sc and
particle volume fraction and the results clearly show that a good consistency exist between the model and
experimental results
