Abstract
|
In this research, the effects of embedded length and Pull-out force on the seismic behavior of
the reinforced concrete column are investigated. Separate degrees of freedom are used for the
steel and concrete parts in nonlinear modeling of the reinforced concrete elements in order to
considering the bond-slip effect. The analytical method is assessed through the comparison of
experiment and analytical results. The effect of bar's slippage on the axial force–bending
moment (P-M) interaction curve of the reinforced concrete column is calculated by using the
ability of nonlinear modeling of Pull-out behavior. The P-M interaction curve for a variety of
column with different embedded length of the bars in the footing is calculated and compared. In
the most recommendations and instructions for capacity estimating of the RC column, it is
assumed the embedded length of the longitudinal bars in the joints is enough and the slippage is
not occur. Though, in this research the effect of reduction of the embedded length on the P-M
interaction curve of the RC columns is evaluated and in the end a modification strategy is
proposed for the ACI suggested curve.
