Abstract Engineering marvels found throughout living nature continually provide inspiration to researchers solving technical challenges. For example, skin from fast-swimming sharks intrigue researchers since its low drag riblet microstructure is applicable to many low drag and effecting on Lift application. By Study the skin a high-speed marine animals, including sharks and dolphins create the riblet surface production. Between various methods of reducing the frictional drag, use riblet and micro level regarding practicality and drag reduction mechanism. Wing-in-ground (WIG) craft is representing an ambitious technology that will help in reducing time, effort, and money of the conventional marine transportation in the future. One of the importance issues in WIG crafts are drag and lift force when the craft starting to plane. Computational fluids dynamics (CFD) method is applied into the study due to limitation of wind tunnel test in simulating effect of micro riblet film in WIG craft. Modeling a Clark-Y Wing in Ansys CFX software in difference Reynolds number and constant ground clearance to show ground effects. Finally compared drag, lift and pressure coefficient of simple and riblet airfoil. The results show by using micro riblet film on airfoil surface can achieved to 68% drag reduction and 37% growth in lift force.
