Abstract
|
To enhance light absorption in thin film solar cell, we propose a plasmonic back contact grating covered with a layer of dielectric in which an upconverter material is incorporated. We employ 2D FDTD method and show that this combination provides two independent enhancement mechanisms: light trapping inside the absorbing layer and increasing upconversion efficiency.
