Pressure Vaccume Swing Adsorption (PVSA) is an efficient separation method in gas, oil and petrochemical industries. PVSA is a cyclic separation process whose main steps are adsorption, at high pressure, and regeneration of the adsorbent, at low pressure. In order to develop this process, a laboratory pilot scale system has been installed in Persian Gulf University which includes two columns and vacuum pump, control and analyze systems. To test the pilot system, carbon dioxide recovery from the mixture with nitrogen and oxygen was studied by 5A zeolite adsorbent. In this process the PVSA cycle involved six consecutive steps namely feed pressurisation, adsorption in high-pressure, blow-down, evacuation, purge and preloading. Various cyclic times as 310 to 450 seconds was performed at constant pressure for different currents. As a result, the highest purity of 86.9 % carbon dioxide.was observed at the constant pressure of 3 bar and cyclic time of 430 seconds.
