Abstract

Spirooxindoles are commonly occurring heterocyclic ring systems and are important structural motifs found in many natural products and pharmaceuticals [1]. They are recently isolated from plants. Also, they are useful as antibacterial [2], anticancer [3], antiproliferative agents [4], HIV antiviral [5]and antitubercular activities [6]. In recent years, numerous ef?cient transformations have been developed for the construction of spirooxindole structures, such as Lewis acids, heteropoly acids, solid acids, and ionic liquids [7,8].
