Abstract

Strawberry is one of the most sensitive plants in horticultural production and nutrient management is a key factor to ensure high yields and fruit quality. Furthermore, an adequate management of nutrient elements is crucial to guarantee health food safety and food quality. On the other hand, salinity stresses are immense threat for crop production worldwide. For this purpose, the effect of phosphorus was evaluated on the sodium and calcium absorption of strawberry leaf under different salinity levels. A factorial experiment was conducted on two factors including phosphorus and salinity in a completely randomized design with four replications. After transplanting strawberries in pots, salinity treatment at three levels of 1.5, 3 and 4.5 dS/m of sodium chloride source and phosphorus treatment at three levels of 0, 40 and 80 mg/kg soil from the source Triple super phosphate fertilizer was applied. The measured characteristics consisted of calcium and sodium elements. The results showed that the plants act in reverse to absorb two elements. Increased salinity levels on the medium bed led to a reduction in the absorption of calcium, but increased sodium absorption. In contrast to the application of phosphorus, the calcium of the plant increased but sodium adsorption decreased.
