Abstract
|
In this paper, the phenomena of super cavitation and super ventilation and their role in the marine industry have been investigated. Considering the increasing use of these phenomena in the marine industries, especially in partially submerged propellers and hydrofoils, more attention should be paid to this field. The areas such as torpedo and SWATH vessels has revolutionized dramatically based on the phenomenon of super-cavitation and ventilation.Also, these phenomena play a constructive role in increasing the lift to drag ratio, and specially in the reduction of the drag around hydrofoil vessels. In addition, improvements made in this field have attracted the attention of researchers to design torpedoes and high speed submarines.
