Abstract

In This thesis some cyclic vicinal diols were prepared from one pot reaction of 1,1-bis(methylthio)-2-nitroethene and amines or diamines followed by addition of ninhidrine to the resulted enaminone mixture.
Then oxidative cleavage of these compounds using periodic acid or lead tetraacetate, at room tempreture gave spiroisobenzofuranupyrroles derivatives. (Scheme
