Abstract

This thesis investigates the reasons of low flow rate in a producing well of South Pars gas field. To do this we used "nodal analysis" for well performance. The studied field is a multi-layer lean gas condensate. Firstly, a synthetic gas condensate reservoir is simulated using field rock and fluid properties. The required information for well performance relationship curve and choosing the best two-phase correlation for tubing performance (TPR) were extracted from reservoir model. Then the accuracy of nodal analysis to predict well operating point evaluated respect to numerical simulation. Moreover, the effect of reservoir model simplification investigated on the nodal analysis results. After validation, this approach was used to find reasons for low flow rate in one of the arbitrary wells in this field. Then, changeing well operating point was investigated considering different drainage radius (2000- 3000 ft.) and skin factors (0-40). The results show that changes of drainage radius in the cited range has small effect on well flow rate, and the main reason for low flow rate is the high skin factor (11-13).
