The present study compares EFL teachers’ (institute vs school) attitudes and EFL students’ (institute vs school) attitudes toward the newly published ‘Prospect’ series and elementary ‘Top Notch’ as a good communicative EFL textbook which follows Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) features so as to reach the purpose of the study which is evaluating and comparing the mentioned textbooks to determine if there are any differences between ‘Prospects’ as claimed to be in line with CLT and ‘Top Notch’ in terms of the textbooks’ presentation of culture, grammar, vocabulary, exercises and activities, reading, writing, listening and speaking, and also what the strengths and weaknesses of these newly published textbooks are regarding the mentioned aspects. Reasons for choosing “Top Notch” textbooks as a comparable benchmark with “Prospect” series as a whole and choosing its elementary levels (Fundamental A, Fundamental B, and Top Notch 1A) to be compared with ‘Prospects 1, 2, and 3’ will be justified thoroughly in the following chapters.
