In this research a mathematical model was developed for the mass transfer of silica nanoparticles in
circular tube under laminar flow regime. The model was used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the use
of nanoparticles in enhancing mass transfer provided and to compare this model with the previous
methods applied. Basis fluid of nanofluid composed of ferri-ferrocyanide and sodium hydroxide. The
range of silica nanoparticles used in this study is 5-15 nanometer. The results clearly show that in the
laminar flow regime with increasing volume fraction of nanoparticles up to 3% by volume and with
increasing the Reynolds number, the mass transfer coefficient increased.
